This in-person event is your chance to make your voice heard on important issues. Connect with like-minded individuals, learn from experts, and take action for positive change. What is the schedule for Advocacy Day 2025?

8:30-9am Coffee and juice during registration. 9am-10:30am -Education and information on prevention issues, advocacy and lobbying; 12pm-lunch. Plan to meet with your legislators anytime during the day. The room is available until 2:30pm, but your legislative appointments can go beyond this.

How do I meet with my legislators?

Paul Steiner, from Tobacco Free Michigan, will make appointments for you or can make them yourself. Once you are registered, you can let us know if you need him to make those appointments for you. We will also send information for you to determine who your legislators are and tips on connecting.

What do we talk about with our legislators?

We are creating talking points that will be sent out after you register. These are specific to substance use issues, but if your group / coalition have other pressing matters in your community, you can discuss those.

Is registration required?

Yes, we require registration as we provide lunch and drinks and need to know how much to order. Cost is $30 for MPA members, $20 for non-members and $10 for students.
